About

Welcome to my blog The Presence of Hope.

When life doesn't go to plan, what do you do?

Our response to change and to the challenges we face, determines the quality of the life we live. Our mindset determines our level of happiness and also our health.

My interest in health and wellbeing has grown as a result of being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at the age of 23, 7 years ago. Through this experience I learnt that life does not always go to plan, but with the right attitude you can always live your best life.

Living with a chronic illness taught me:
  • how important it is to embrace change
  • how acceptance frees up vital energy and makes way for new solutions
  • why we need to focus on our capacity not limitations
  • how to stay positive through life's challenges

I am a freelance writer, motivational speaker and facilitator of workshops aimed to equip, empower and inspire women, particularly women over 50.

I love working with women at this stage in their life as it is a time so full of potential. It is a time when women can leverage off their past experiences and begin to set the agenda for their own life. It is an exciting time of life and I love seeing women achieve their long held dreams and aspirations.

I have written for some major publications, including the Body and Soul magazine in The Sunday TelegraphThe Daily Telegraph, Australian magazine WellBeing and Australian Yoga Life and I am a monthly contributor for the website Make The World Move.

Through my writing, speaking engagements, and workshops, my goal and passion is to inspire other women to live their best life.

If you feel my message would inspire the women you work with or the groups you are involved with, I would love to hear from you. Send me an email at jessica.s.stead@gmail.com and we can chat more. I look forward to hearing from you.
